Whenever we have a doctor visit regarding our health problem, he complaints about deficiency of this xyz nutrient from body and deficiency of that abc nutrient from body. I know most of you have wondered that what actually nutrients are!  Well, I also used to wonder same. But now I know what nutrients are! Let me tell you also about it!

Nutrients are nutritional components which we get from different food items that we utilize to survive and grow. They are important for our proper growth and can be obtained from different sources, either from plants or from animals. In short they keep our body alive! Whenever we consume any food, our body seizes nutrients out of it by the process of digestion and then it is used by different body parts to execute their role in body. Nutrients are utilized by body to build and revamp tissues, control body processes and are converted to provide energy to body and do constructive synthesis in the body. Main types of nutrients are carbohydrates, fats, proteins and fiber and inorganic compounds like dietary mineral, water and oxygen are also considered nutrients.

Well, when it comes to intake of nutrients! Plants and animals have different methods. Plants directly take nutrients from soil by means of their roots and from the atmosphere via their leaves. On the other hand, Animals (Humans are also animals) have specific digestive systems that work in a particular way to break down nutrients to be utilized by body.
